After last years impressive performance at the Power Fest I was more than eager to see Ignite again. Especially when it is at a cool and intimate venue like the (SOLD OUT!) Tivoli in Utrecht on a beautiful Monday evening. And beautiful it was, heart and body warming as well, Christ it was hot last night!But first things first….Green Lizard. The Dutchies that were the opening act by choice of Ignite themselves. Not that I fully understand this choice as Green Lizard put on a show that was close to boring. The songs seem to have undergone a transition from exciting (like they were in Barneveld) to almost irritating, as there was no real highlight. Even ‘Yesterday’ got killed somewhere along the line. Sorry to say but let us forget this show as soon as possible and maybe they can switch drummers?!After the too long stage transition, as always, the Ignite intro blared out and it was fucking PARTY TIME! The audience was up for a great party and so was the never failing band. The opening riff of ‘Poverty For All’ got the first goose bumps on my arm and I blew my voice during ‘Who Sold Out Now?’ The rest of the set was a mixture of old and new songs that were a great blend of the discography of Ignite. The intro speech to ‘Let It Burn’ was almost the same as in Tilburg, the song itself reigned hard! But one of the absolute highlights was Bad Brains’ ‘Banned in D.C.’, Jesus was I trippin’. Zoli also called the women to arm who were in an abusive relationship…”Don’t walk away..Run! Run!! RUN!!!”. A massive pit followed.Further highlights were the unexpected ‘Live For Better Days’, ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’ (as always) and the ‘Fuck Bush’ speech to introduce ‘Fear Is Our Tradition’.....continued on http://www.volkskrantblog.nl/bericht/149758
