Under the leadership of Emilio Castillo and Stephen “Doc” Kupka, the group evolved into a ten-piece ensemble featuring a powerful horn section and a distinctive East Bay Grease sound. With classics such as “You’re Still A Young Man” and “What Is Hip?” they dominated the charts in the 1970s, followed by collaborations with artists like Elton John, Toto, Santana, Rod Stewart and Aerosmith.
