BASHO-JUNGHANS is undoubtedly one of the leading figures in modern Takoma-style acoustic guitar playing (a la Fahey, Jack Rose, James Blackshaw etc). MARY ELLEN BUTE meanwhile tread a shining path as one of the very first female experimental film makers creating alchemic animations and visual music comparable with that of Oskar Fischinger. Tonight we'll screen the first of three programmes of her films on loan from Arsenal – Institut für Film und Videokunst in Berlin.
