Al sinds jongs af aan wist Durand Jones al dat hij een carriere in de muziek wilde. Tijdens zijn muziekstudies in Indiana, Amerika maakt hij met een paar medestudenten een heavy versie van ‘Dock on the Bay’ en Durand Jones & The Indications is geboren. Het is een deep soul band naar het voorbeeld van iconen als The Icemen en The Brothers Of Soul.
