Gorath ontstond uit de assen van chaos, zo beweert de bio. De band ontstond in 1995 als eenmansproject, maar evolueerde tot een cold black metalband die beïnvloed is door Ulver, Arcturus, Enslaved en Darkthrone. Gorath releaste haar recentste album 'The Fourth Era' eind 2006.
